Regular contact lens check ups are an essential part of the routine that minimises the risk of complications from eye infections. While serious complications are rare, the early stages of some conditions may not be noticed by wearers so it is important that you are seen by our optometrist on a regular basis.
The frequency of your contact lens check-up will be as recommended by our optometrist and will be at least once a year and if the lenses are new or need careful observation, check-ups will be at much shorter intervals, normally every six months.
Contact lens technology is constantly
developing, aiming to increase comfort and better meet the lifestyle needs of patients. Lenses which better meet your eye and lifestyle needs may have become available since your last check up and the optometrist will discuss these with you if best suited to your clinical need.
